The Second Session of Kyauk Phyu Youth Capacity Building Program Successfully Completed

On 22 February 2020, the 10-week Chinese language course as the second session of Kyauk Phyu Youth Capacity Building Program successfully completed. Nearly 50 people including members of the Program Management Committee, two Chinese language coaches from Confucius Classroom at Eastern Language and Business Center and all the certified trainees attended the closing ceremony.

U Than Win, Chairman of the Program Management Committee, expressed his gratitude to CITIC Consortium's efforts to provide a series of training programs for the local youths of Kyauk Phyu. He also articulated that the local people have felt and received the kindness from CITIC Consortium.

One of the trainees from this program said that the training was a valuable opportunity for the local youths and she appreciated the great efforts of CITIC Consortium, the Program Management Committee and the training coaches.

Kyauk Phyu Youth Capacity Building Program is a series of public welfare training projects sponsored by Yunnan Provincial Government and CITIC Consortium, jointly organized by YCIH which is a member of CITIC Consortium, NLD Education Network, and Confucius Classroom at Eastern Language and Business Center. Through providing sustainable free training for local young people,the program aims to improve their comprehensive capability and employability opportunities and it also helps to promote the multi-level development of Kyauk Phyu.

During the preparation and implementation for this project, CITIC Consortium always adhered to the principle of "Openness, Transparency and Local Priority". Before each training session, local people are invited to participate in the meeting to put forward their needs and suggestions. The Program Management Committee, mainly composed of Kyauk Phyu residents, is responsible for the implementation of the program as in student enrollment, selection and other general management. The training program is highly valued and strongly supported by the local government and communities.

Up to now, the first session of basic electrical technical course, English language course and the second session of Chinese language course were successfully implemented and have enrolled nearly 140 local trainees. CITIC Consortium will continue to carry out various skills training according to local needs.
