On January 13, 2020，CITIC Consortium received the reply on Project Proposal Report (PPR) for Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone (KPSEZ) Deep Sea Port Project (DSP Project) issued by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection (MONREC). The reply is the written response to the PPR formally submitted by CITIC Consortium through KPSEZ Management Committee in September, 2019. This marks the completion of the first step of the DSP Project’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure.
As designated by MONREC in the reply, the DSP Project has been determined as an EIA type project. In line with the EIA procedure, CITIC Consortium, on behalf of the Joint Venture (JV) to be incorporated for the Project, will choose an independent consultant to conduct EIA through bidding process.
In adhering to the guideline of 3Ps, namely “People, Prosperity, Planet”, CITIC Consortium is fully committed to building and operating a green port in the entire lifecycle of the project.
