  • In December 2009, CITIC Group singed an MoU on Kyaukpyu Deep Sea Port project under the witness of then Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping.
  • In September 2014,the government of Myanmar invited public tenders from all over the world for the development of the KP SEZ. 
     
    In November 2014, CITIC Group formed two consortiums including internationally-renowned companies for the DSP and IP projects and submitted bids.
  • In December 2015, CITIC Consortiems were formally awarded both of KP DSP and IP projects.
  • On 10 April 2017, witnessed by the Chinese President and Myanmar President , CITIC Group signed the Exchange of Letters with KP SEZ Management Committee, whereby both sides agreed to make joint efforts to promote the early signing and implementation of the projects.
  • CITIC Group signed a framework agreement on the Kyauk Phyu SEZ Deep-Sea Port Project on Nov. 8th 2018.

  • Work teams of both sides have basically reached an agreement on the transaction documents of Kyauk Phyu SEZ Deep-Sea Port Project in April 2019.

  • On behalf of CITIC Consortium, CITIC Group held an exchange ceremony for the signed documents of Kyauk Phyu SEZ Deep Sea Port Project in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar in January 2020, a mark on the transition of the Kyaukphyu Project from conceptual stage to substantive planning and construction.

  • Field Survey

    On January 25 2021, the international open tender for PGTS of DSP Project was launched. Seven bidders formally submitted their bidding proposals. 

    On August 31 2021, a joint bid evaluation team of the Investor and PMC completed the bid evaluation. The Consortium of CITICC-FHDI was selected as the preferred bidder. 

    On September 15 2021, the specific service agreement of PGTS for DSP project was signed between the Investor and the Consortium of CITICC-FHDI, the successful bidder.

    EISA

    On January 25 2021, the international open tender of ESIA Consultant Service for DSP Project was launched by publishing tender notice.

  • Field Survey

    On April 8, 2022, field survey contractor started site investigation and survey works.

    ESIA

    On January 25, 2022, the Consortium of MSR and International Partners (led by Myanmar local ESIA consultant) was identified as the preferred bidder with the highest score.

    On February 10, 2022, the specific service agreement of PGTS for DSP project was signed between the Investor and the Consortium of MSR and International Partners, the successful bidder.

    On April 7 2022, ECD issued approval on selected ESIA Consultant(MSR Consortium).

    Site investigations and stakeholder engagements of scoping stage were completed in August 2022.

  • Field Survey

    Site works were completed in February 2023.

    Reports were completed in November 2023.

    ESIA

    Scoping Reports for Kyaukphyu Deep Sea Port has been officially approved in December 2023.  

    Addendum Inked for Kyaukphyu Deep Sea Port Project

    The Addendum to the Concession Agreement of Kyaukphyu Deep Sea Port project was inked in December 2023.
