Chinese ambassador to Myanmar H.E.Mr. Chen Hai inspected KPSEZ project

From July 26 to 28, 2019, Chinese ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai visited Kyauk Phyu in Rakhine State and inspected Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone (KPSEZ) Deep Sea Port and Industrial Park projects awarded to CITIC Consortia through international bidding process. This is his first visit out of Yangon where the embassy is located and Myanmar's capital Naypyidaw after accredited as the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar in June. Mr. Yuan Shaobin, Executive President of CITIC Myanmar, accompanied the ambassador during the visit.

During the visit in Kyauk Phyu, the ambassador attended the "CITIC Group T-shirt Donation Ceremony" held in No.1 high school. Mr. Chen Hai also met with government officials of Kyauk Phyu district and township including U Than Htut Oo, the director of Kyauk Phyu district General Administration Department. Later, the ambassador visited the Youth Center donated and constructed by CITIC Consortia, heard CITIC Consortia's work report and inspected the KPSEZ project’s planned sites, as well as the helicopter hanger of CITIC Offshore Helicopter Company in Kyauk Phyu.

After inspecting the KPSEZ project's planned sites, Mr. Chen Hai expressed hopes that KPSEZ would create more jobs for local residents and boost local economy, as well as China – Myanmar economic cooperation.
