CITIC Consortium and local communities discuss Kyauk Phyu youth training program

To improve capabilities and job competency of the local young people, co-sponsored by China’s Yunnan Province and CITIC consortium, a youth skills training program will be implemented soon in Kyauk Phyu Township, Rakhine state by YCIH and NLD Education Network with the assistance of Kyauk Phyu Youth Center Management Committee. The first phase of the program will start in early September to enroll 60 students for electrician and English language.

Under the principles of "open, transparent and locally preferred", the preparatory meeting of the program was held on Aug 22, 2019. More than 40 representatives from Kyauk Phyu district and township General Administration Departments, local communities, CSOs, the media were invited. During the meeting, 16 local representatives were nominated as the board members and the management committee members, which formed the management body to manage and assist in the implementation of the program. The trainees for the courses will be recruited from local applicants in need in an open, impartial and transparent manner.

All attendees welcomed the training program with appreciation to improve the capability of the young people in Kyauk Phyu. They would continue to work with CITIC consortium through open and transparent communication and cooperation to promote the social and economic development of Kyauk Phyu. They also expected to move forward Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone that would bring more opportunities for local development.
